RuneScape Dragonwilds cuts dedicated server hosting prices

Jagex has lowered the price of dedicated server hosting for RuneScape Dragonwilds, its early access survival game, for players using Shockbyte. According to the official post, the new monthly rates are already in effect, and existing subscribers will get refunded for the difference.

The price cuts hit all three current tiers. The two-player starter plan drops from $15 a month to $10, the four-player standard plan goes from $21 to $15, and the six-player premium option falls from $25 to $20. Jagex says RAM add-on charges that were paid under the old pricing will also be refunded.

The same update also includes a few changes for custom servers. Jagex says it has made owned servers easier to find, made the owner ID requirement optional, and added direct IP connection support.

Dedicated servers were added back in March, alongside the option to rent hosting through Shockbyte. This latest change mostly comes down to cost and usability, but for players already running private worlds, it should make that setup a bit cheaper and a little less fiddly.
