MapleStory September Update Reworks Combat Feel, Boss Crystals, and Teases Blue Archive Collab

Nexon used its September 10 Maple Now broadcast to lay out a broad September update for MapleStory, with changes aimed at combat canceling, class balance, Mesos, Boss Crystals, and several progression systems.

The headline combat change is cancel functionality for movement skills across all classes. Nexon is also reducing differences between rush and double-jump movement, removing damage-focused party synergy skills in favor of personal buffs, and shifting some summon and installation skills into persistent or passive effects. Sixth-job HEXA Core damage weighting is being adjusted too, with HEXA Matrix Reset Scrolls available for all skills except Sol Janus through October 22.

  • Pathfinder and Ho Young are getting gauge-related structure changes.
  • Mihile’s Royal Guard is being fully redesigned.
  • Demon Avenger is getting adjustments tied to recovery and Star Force efficiency.
  • Boss Crystal sell prices are being adjusted by tier, and the weekly Boss Crystal sale limit is being removed, though boss clear limits remain.
  • Meso gain will drop sharply when hunting monsters more than 11 levels below your character.
  • Souls are getting a Magnificent Soul enhancement path using Soul Ether from Adversary-tier bosses and higher, while Soul Skills are being removed.

The economy pass also revises Memento Cube boss drops, moves Core Scrolls to Meso purchase, and updates Inner Ability Advanced Reset so it consumes Mesos and Honor EXP, with the possibility of rolling up to three Legendary lines.

On the content side, MapleStory is adding Aurum Regis, a level 290 Epic Dungeon tied to the Aboris palace story. Nexon says it offers more than 1.5 times the EXP of Nightmare Realm across five stages. Monster Park is getting Geared Lock, and the autumn event, Visitors of the Argo, will cover Apostle lore while offering attendance rewards.

Personal Burning is also being expanded with growth missions, hunting bonuses, weekly boss EXP, a custom Personal Monster hunting reward setup, a coin shop with flames, cubes, and Sol Erda materials, plus the Ascendant Pulse Ring, which can be enhanced up to 20 Stars.

Nexon also previewed collaborations. Catch! Teenieping content is coming with magnet pets, illusion rings, Sol Hecate skins, and outfits. A Blue Archive collaboration is planned for November, with Nexon comparing its scale to earlier Demon Slayer and One-Punch Man events. An offline MapleStory Escape Room Cafe is planned near Hongdae starting September 21.
