MapleStory Classic World Adds Forgotten Hollow in November, Guilds in December

Nexon says the global launch of MapleStory Classic World brought back enough players to push Steam concurrency to nearly double the game’s previous all-time high on the platform. Demand was strong enough that the team expanded server capacity after launch.

The publisher also shared a few launch-week stats from Victoria Island. Players created 31,000 homes across Henesys and Kerning City, ran the Kerning City Party Quest more than 1.2 million times, and somehow one player changed outfits 4,646 times in seven days. Very MapleStory behavior.

The first post-launch content update is set for November 18. It adds Forgotten Hollow, a new Classic World-exclusive region aimed at level 39 to 59 characters. The zone includes an upper area built around a cave fairy sanctuary, plus a deeper corrupted area tied to the World Tree. That lower section introduces a new boss, Rotten Mushmom.

The November update also adds Moon Bunny’s Rice Cake, a Thanksgiving-themed party quest for characters level 10 and up.

A second update follows on December 9 with the first phase of the guild system. Players will be able to create guilds from Lith Harbor and design guild marks, with more guild features planned later. The same update adds a new Forgotten Hollow party quest for level 41+ characters, and Happyville returns for the end-of-year event season.

Nexon also said the team is working on Classic World’s first boss raid, the Orbis region, and third job advancement, though no dates were given for those yet.
