LOTRO’s The Wolves of Mordor Expansion Delayed One Week to October 28
Standing Stone Games has pushed back The Lord of the Rings Online’s next expansion, The Wolves of Mordor, by one week. The expansion is now scheduled to launch on October 28, 2026, after previously being dated for October 21 when pre-orders opened alongside Update 49.6 on September 30.
The date change is now reflected on the official expansion page. The store’s delay protections haven’t changed: if the expansion slips again, players who pre-purchase are still set to receive the expansion content and items no later than November 20, 2026. Instance and raid content would arrive no later than 90 days after the expansion content launches.
The Wolves of Mordor sends players to Draugardh, a remote part of Mordor beyond Gorgoroth. The expansion includes three new regions: Heledhris, Parth Rhavas, and Nan Ogol. Its main threat is the were-wolves of Mordor, tied to some of Sauron’s older servants.
Pre-orders are still available in three editions: Standard for $40, Collector’s for $80, and Ultimate for $130. The higher-priced versions include extras such as Were-wolf Hunter cosmetics and the Scar the Hunter’s Hound pet. Pre-purchasing also unlocks the Neighbours housing companion system right away.
Standing Stone Games has also been previewing Survival Instincts, the expansion’s alternative advancement system, ahead of release.
