LOTRO’s Rivendell housing neighborhood adds ceiling dyeing and new Elven homes
The Lord of the Rings Online is getting a new player housing neighborhood in Rivendell, and it comes with a small but notable housing feature the game hasn’t had before. According to an in-depth preview from fan site Deco du Milieu, players will be able to resurface and dye ceilings in the new neighborhood.
The Rivendell area is set on the western heights above the valley and is built around a split river running between housing lots. The neighborhood includes two standard houses, four deluxe houses, and one kinship house.
Deco du Milieu says the concept work for Rivendell housing started in 2024, with most of the development happening last year. The setting leans into the Elven look, with mountain views, waterfalls, and rivers around the plateau.
For LOTRO players who spend a lot of time decorating, the ceiling customization is probably the biggest takeaway here. Housing updates in the MMO tend to focus on new neighborhoods and layouts, so a fresh decorating option stands out more than the usual scenery details.
There’s still no release date mentioned in the preview, at least from the information provided there. But if you follow LOTRO’s housing scene, Rivendell looks like the next major neighborhood on the way.
