LOTRO Update 47.1 adds new Mûr Ghala missions and kicks off Spring Festival

The Lord of the Rings Online has a new update live now, and the biggest additions are aimed at Mûr Ghala and the game’s next seasonal event. Update 47.1 adds 10 new missions in the Kingdoms of Harad zone, while the Spring Festival returns from March 12 through March 31 with new missions and new cosmetic rewards.

The new Mûr Ghala missions are picked up from two NPCs: Várudar in Adagím and Jôrlar in Zajâna. Each offers five missions, but they’re split across two days, so players won’t be able to grab the full set at once.

The patch also reworks the Monster Player Reward Track. Its duration is being extended to 90 days with 100 levels, which puts it more in line with the Legendary Item Reward Track. Standing Stone Games also says older Monster Track items will be made available from Marta, with some added now and more coming later. The studio went into more detail in its developer blog.

Beyond that, this is mostly the usual round of class balance changes, system tweaks, and bug fixes. Full details are in the patch notes.

Mûr Ghala was added with Kingdoms of Harad in December, so this update gives players a bit more to do in LOTRO’s newest region. It also follows last month’s UI scaling update, one of the quality-of-life changes the team previously said would be part of its longer-term plans.
