LOTRO Update 46.1 adds three Kingdoms of Harad instances and kicks off UI scaling

Standing Stone Games has pushed The Lord of the Rings Online update 46.1, bringing three new Kingdoms of Harad instances for endgame players and rolling out the first phase of long-awaited UI scaling.

If you own Kingdoms of Harad and have a level 160+ character, you can now jump into Tier 1 and Tier 2 of two six-player instances, plus a new three-player run.

The two six-player instances are Ekal-nêbi, the Fallen Palace and Kôth Rau, the Wailing Hold. The third addition, The Treasure Caves of Hurum Kâna, is built for three players. All three are now available with 46.1.

On the interface side, the first UI scaling pass adds a global scaling option and support for scaling more than 50 UI elements, including the cursor. There’s also a new UI Settings tab in the options menu. Several full-screen screens have been updated to better fit widescreen displays without stretching, including the login screen, character select, the map window, and loading screens.

Standing Stone notes there are still some known issues with the new scaling options. Details are listed in the patch notes.

Update 46.1 also includes a batch of fixes and improvements, including a fix for players who couldn’t retrieve account-bound items from character or shared storage after transferring from a legacy world.
