Lost Ark’s February update drops Purification, tweaks daily rewards, and renames Dragonknight to Guardianknight
Lost Ark is making some big routine changes in its February update. Amazon Games says the update will remove the Purification system, reshuffle how daily activities work (and what they pay out), and bring in the next class, now officially named the Guardianknight.
Details came from a team update, which focuses heavily on dailies and progression pacing as the game heads into its fourth anniversary.
The headline change is Purification being retired. The team says the system drew mixed feedback and, in practice, often ended up getting in players’ way more than helping, especially around silver and shard costs. With Purification going away in February, players will need to decide what they want to do with any existing characters built around it.
February’s update also reworks daily activities and their rewards. Amazon Games says some materials will move to different sources, and the update will adjust which items are character-bound versus tradable. On top of that, the patch is set to add a handful of quality-of-life tools aimed at cutting down on busywork, including an ability stone auto-cut option and bulk actions for honing, karma, and quality tapping.
Finally, the upcoming class previously revealed as Dragonknight is being renamed to Guardianknight for its in-game release. Amazon Games says the new name fits Lost Ark’s lore and source material more closely.
Alongside all of that, February will kick off new progression events, including a South Rimeria Powerpass, a new spin on an Express-style event, and an anniversary celebration event with some items limited to event characters.
