Lost Ark is dropping roadmap videos as Amazon shifts updates to blog posts

Amazon Games says Lost Ark will stop doing roadmap videos and move future update rundowns to written articles instead. The change came in this week’s roadmap video, which was hosted by franchise lead Matt Huston after recent layoffs affected several community-facing staff, including two of the game’s best-known presenters.

Huston said the current video will be the last one in this format, and that Amazon plans to keep sharing roadmap details through blog posts going forward. According to the announcement, player reaction to Huston himself has been fairly supportive, even as frustration over the layoffs continues.

The roadmap itself outlined a decent chunk of incoming content across April, May, and June. April is set to add a four-player Shadow Raid against Circa, along with Chaos Rifts, Haal’s Hourglass, new Guardian Raids, Destined Tremor Gear, a new content guide UI, and an optional subscription-style feature tied to progression.

In May, Snowflake Argos is coming back. June is slated to bring the Catarum Archipelago region, the Horizon Cathedral abyssal raid, and new exclusive cosmetics.

Lost Ark is still getting regular updates, but the timing of this communication shift stands out. The game’s recent Steam user reviews have fallen to “Mostly Negative,” and its population has continued to trend downward. On the game’s Steam page, that recent review rating is visible now.

For players, the immediate takeaway is simple enough: the roadmap cadence isn’t going away, but the video format is. If you’ve been following those monthly or seasonal breakdowns on YouTube, those details are now expected to show up in written posts instead.
