Lord of the Rings Online’s Midsummer Festival Returns With a New Horse Race

The Midsummer Festival is back in Lord of the Rings Online, bringing the annual Minas Tirith celebration around Arwen and Aragorn’s wedding back into the game. This year’s event includes returning quests, new rewards, and a fresh horse race called the Shield Isles Midsummer Run.

Players can start by heading to Minas Tirith, either through the auto-bestowed seasonal quest and its map reward or by using Stable-masters from supported hubs. You can’t simply walk there. Once inside the city, Faeleth offers the main festival quests, including “In Celebration of Midsummer,” “A Fondness for Festivity,” and “The Majesty of Midsummer.”

The new Shield Isles Midsummer Run is available from the Festival Grounds and sends players around Zir Aktar with help from the freebooters of Furtherholm. Running it enough times will unlock extra rewards.

Other Midsummer Festival activities are also back across LOTRO, alongside a new quest in Furtherhold. This year’s reward pool includes Flowering Sun outfits, housing items, an Owl companion, and an Elk mount, along with returning cosmetics and collectibles.
