Lord of the Rings Online VIP multi-month plans are getting more expensive in July
Standing Stone Games is raising the price of multi-month VIP subscriptions for Lord of the Rings Online starting July 1, 2026. The one-month VIP plan is staying at $14.99 per month, but the 3-month, 6-month, and 12-month options will all cost more.
Players who have an active subscription by the end of June will keep their current pricing until the end of 2027, according to the official announcement. Standing Stone said the change is tied to business costs rising in recent years, while noting that LOTRO’s subscription pricing has largely stayed the same since the MMO launched in 2007.
For the U.S. and Europe, the new multi-month VIP pricing breaks down like this:
- 3-month subscription: $13.99 or €11.66 per month, up from $9.99 or €8.99
- 6-month subscription: $12.99 or €10.99 per month, up from $9.99 or €8.99
- 12-month subscription: $11.99 or €10.00 per month, up from $8.33 or €7.50
Regional pricing will also be adjusted, though the exact amounts vary by market. The biggest change is that the 3-month and 6-month plans will no longer share the same monthly rate, with the longer plan now getting a slightly better discount.
LOTRO is nearing its 20th anniversary, but Standing Stone has continued to update the MMO with technical upgrades and new content. The price increase only affects VIP subscription packages, not the base free-to-play access.
