Limit Zero Breakers Prologue Test Starts June 10 on Steam and Mobile

Limit Zero Breakers, the anime-styled gacha RPG from VIC Game Studios and NC America, will run its Prologue test from June 10 through June 15 on Steam, Android, and iOS. The test is listed on the game’s Steam page, with NC America showing off the game in a recent hands-off preview.

The pitch is pretty direct: a PvE-focused action RPG with a smaller character roster, faster combat, and a stronger push toward anime-style storytelling than the usual “collect everyone” setup. NC America said the full roster is expected to be around 14 characters, with 11 available in the playtest.

Each character has a weapon and elemental identity. Kaito, the lead character, uses fire and dual daggers, while other party members bring elements like water, wind, and lightning. Those elements can interact in combat, including combo effects and debuffs, so team building sounds like a bigger part of the game than just swapping to whoever hits hardest.

Solo play lets party members stay on the field alongside the active character, rather than disappearing when swapped out. Multiplayer works differently: players pick their character ahead of time and can’t freely swap, so group composition matters more in boss fights. Those bosses are called Raids in-game, though they’re not MMO-style raids in the traditional sense. They’re replayable at higher difficulties as players progress.

The game is set in Seraphia, a world of floating sky islands. Players travel aboard the Weave Whale, which NC America described as a central hub for character interactions, story progression, side quests, and travel between islands.

Limit Zero Breakers is also leaning hard into its anime production ties. MAPPA is involved with some animated cutscenes, while Kadokawa is part of the broader IP push. NC America also confirmed the game will have a pity system and said it won’t include pay-to-win elements, though detailed monetization info wasn’t the focus of the preview.
