Hytale hits 10 million mod downloads on CurseForge within weeks of Early Access

Hytale players have already downloaded more than 10 million mods through CurseForge, according to a press release from the modding platform. The milestone comes less than a month after Hypixel Studios launched the blocky survival sandbox into Early Access.

CurseForge is currently positioned as Hytale’s first official mod hub for the Early Access period, letting creators upload mods and players install them for use in-game. Hypixel’s CEO, Simon Collins-Laflamme, credited the community and partners like CurseForge and Tebex for helping make the launch successful.

The press release also pointed to a couple of early standouts on the platform, including EyeSpy (a mod that shows info about whatever you’re looking at) and Wan’s Wonder Weapons, which adds new weapons and is still expanding. The release mentions other popular downloads focused on UI changes, item management, and even MIDI instrument support.

Alongside the mod ecosystem, Hypixel Studios and Overwolf (CurseForge’s parent company) have also enabled Tebex support for private server monetization, including things like subscriptions and item sales.

There’s still no official player count, and Hytale isn’t on Steam, so there’s no public chart data to compare against. Even so, 10 million mod downloads this soon after launch suggests the game’s mod scene has ramped up quickly. Hypixel has also been pushing Early Access patches, with recent updates adjusting things like backpack sizing and crafting, and adding new items such as a skeleton-summoning reward drop.
