GunZ: The Duel Returns to Steam Worldwide on August 13, 2026
Masangsoft is bringing GunZ: The Duel back worldwide through Steam on August 13, 2026, at 5 p.m. PDT, which is August 14 at 9 a.m. KST. The remastered third-person action shooter is now listed on its Steam page.
The Steam release is being pitched as a cleaned-up return for the long-running arena shooter, best known for wall-running, air dashes, fast melee-gun swapping, and the player-made combat style often called K-Style. Masangsoft says the new version was adjusted after several months of global playtests.
- Stat advantages tied to character progression and equipment have been removed.
- Equipment is now cosmetic, while weapons have been rebalanced around type and weight.
- Graphics have been upgraded while keeping the original game’s look and feel.
- The UI has been redesigned, with additions like an FOV slider, hit markers, damage vignette effects, and improved multikill notifications.
- New outfits, visual effects, maps, modes, and equipment items are planned for the Steam launch.
Masangsoft also says it plans to support official tournaments and community-run competitions after launch. The studio is adding Medal.tv integration for clipping gameplay, Twitch Drops for participating streams, and a creator support program called LUDENUS CREATORS.
Producer PD Max said the remaster was shaped by community feedback and that the team worked on combat, user experience, and UI while trying to preserve what made GunZ stand out in the first place.
