Guild Wars Reforged anniversary sale drops the original trilogy to $12 on Steam

Guild Wars is 21 this month, and ArenaNet is marking it with a steep sale on Guild Wars Reforged and its add-ons. According to the Steam page, the anniversary sale runs through April 9 at 10 a.m. Pacific.

The big draw is the price. The first three campaigns are down to a combined $12, with Eye of the North discounted to $6 and the Bonus Mission Pack to $3.59. If you’ve been meaning to pick up the original Guild Wars on Steam, this is about as cheap as it gets.

The timing lines up with a busy stretch for the remastered release. ArenaNet and its partners relaunched the classic game as Guild Wars Reforged in late 2025 with a modernized client aimed at newer hardware, including handheld play. Since then, the team has kept patching in updates rather than treating it like a one-and-done re-release.

That includes the April 1 patch, which added a new dungeon in pre-Searing Ascalon, made Devona available as a hero instead of only a henchman, and brought some inventory quality-of-life changes. So for returning players, there’s at least a bit of fresh stuff to check out beyond the sale itself.

For anyone who never touched the original, Guild Wars is the pre-Guild Wars 2 online RPG with instanced co-op areas, build-heavy skill bars, and standalone campaigns. Twenty-one years on, it’s having a surprisingly active second life.
