Guild Wars 2 Is Adding a Jimothy the Raccoon Mini on August 11
Guild Wars 2 is getting a new mini based on Jimothy, the Seattle raccoon that recently became internet famous. ArenaNet says players will be able to find him in Lion’s Arch starting August 11 and unlock a Jimothy mini for their account.
The studio announced the crossover in a Guild Wars 2 post, noting that the original viral video was filmed by the spouse of an ArenaNet developer, who also gave Jimothy his name. That’s the connection that’s bringing the little cryptid into Tyria.
Jimothy’s real-world fame comes from a video of a raccoon believed to have been born with Short Spine syndrome, which gave him a distinctive look and quickly turned him into a local mascot online. ArenaNet also echoed the usual advice for Seattle locals: admire the real raccoon from a distance. In-game, though, he’ll be safe to approach.
Players won’t need to wait long. Head to Lion’s Arch on August 11, track down Jimothy, and you’ll be able to add his mini version to your collection.
