Black Temple Opens August 27 in WoW Burning Crusade Classic Anniversary Edition
World of Warcraft Classic’s Burning Crusade Classic Anniversary Edition is moving into its Black Temple phase on August 27, with a global launch set for 3:00 p.m. PDT / 23:00 BST. The update opens both Black Temple and The Battle for Mount Hyjal, bringing Illidan Stormrage and Archimonde back onto the level 70 raid schedule.
Blizzard outlined the rollout in a Blue Tracker post, which also confirms Netherwing dailies, Epic Gems, and the timing for Arena Season 3. It’s a busy phase, especially for players still sorting out attunements before raid night.
- Black Temple opens in Shadowmoon Valley and requires attunement before entry.
- The Battle for Mount Hyjal opens through the Caverns of Time and requires completion of “The Vials of Eternity” questline.
- The Netherwing faction becomes the new daily hub in Shadowmoon Valley, with Netherwing Eggs helping speed up reputation gains.
- Epic Gems can be earned from mining in Mount Hyjal with 375 Mining or as rare drops in Black Temple.
- Arena Season 2 ends August 18 with weekly realm restarts, while Arena Season 3 begins September 1 with weekly realm restarts.
The Netherwing grind is also back for players chasing Netherwing Drake mounts. Once you reach Exalted and meet the related quest and riding requirements, the drakes can be obtained from Drake Dealer Hurlunk in the Dragonmaw Base Camp.
On the PvP side, unspent Arena Points from Season 2 will convert to Honor Points at a 1:10 rate. Season 2 gear will move to Area 52 vendors at a discount with no Arena rating requirement, while Season 1 gear will become available from Honor vendors in Orgrimmar and Stormwind.
