Genshin Impact Version 7.1 Lands September 23 With Vesna, Vodyanitsa, and Anniversary Rewards

HoYoverse has announced Genshin Impact Version 7.1, A Rekviem for the Underworld, for September 23 across PlayStation, Xbox, PC, Android, and iOS. The update continues the Snezhnaya Archon Quest, adds two new 5-star characters, brings back Liyue’s Moonchase Festival, and includes sixth anniversary rewards.

The new Archon Quest pushes players deeper into Snezhnaya’s conflict, with the Traveler meeting the Tsaritsa and learning more about the plan behind the collection of the Gnoses. Ronova, the Ruler of Death, also becomes a new Weekly Boss. Completing the quest will award 620 Primogems, and Version 7.1 adds special assignments from the Tsaritsa’s Confidential Secretary.

Vesna and Vodyanitsa are the two new 5-star characters. Vesna is an Anemo Sword user who can convert Cryo Swirl reactions into Stellar Swirl reactions, summons Spirit Blades in combat, and can fly during exploration. Vodyanitsa is a Hydro Catalyst user who can heal the active character, weaken enemy Hydro and Cryo resistance, boost ATK, and move freely in her Water Imp form. Both characters get story content tied to cosmetic rewards for their companion gear.

Vesna and Vodyanitsa will appear in the first phase of Version 7.1 Event Wishes. Skirk and Escoffier return in the second phase.

  • Liyue’s Moonchase Festival returns, with Yilong Wharf dressed for the event, three mini-games, and a new 4-star Sword among the rewards.
  • Snezhnaya gets a seasonal snowball event with local children and event enemies.
  • Natlan hosts a tournament prediction event covering 16 teams across several match days.
  • Miliastra Wonderland gets an autumn-themed lobby, free cosmetics, an event headpiece, client-side scripting controls, and collaborative editing tools.
  • Anniversary rewards include one event-exclusive 5-star character from a select lineup for players who complete the latest Archon Quest, plus one standard 5-star character, 1,600 Primogems, 10 Intertwined Fate, and more.

Genshin Impact supports cross-progression and co-op across its current platforms.
