Genshin Impact 7.2 arrives November 4 with Mitya, Valeriy, and eastern Snezhnaya
HoYoverse has announced Genshin Impact Version 7.2, Hour of Ruin, for November 4. The update opens a new area in eastern Snezhnaya, continues the Archon Quest, and adds two playable Electro characters: 5-star Catalyst user Mitya and 4-star Sword user Valeriy.
The main story centers on the Nails of Retribution and the spreading Holy Soil phenomenon, with representatives from all seven nations gathering in Snezhnaya at the Tsaritsa’s request. Players who complete the new Archon Quest during the designated period can get 560 Primogems and Character Ascension Materials for Mitya. New Secret Tsarist Assignments also include rewards such as a Snezhnaya-themed Wind Glider.
The new explorable region takes players to Novokitezhgrad, an underground city built around Kresnik Kristall, and farther east to Wingspan Peak and Old Kitezhgrad. The update also adds hazards tied to contaminated Kresnik Kristall deposits, with Prime Ice Constructs and two elemental shotguns used to deal with them. A new large boss is also waiting in Novokitezhgrad.
Mitya is built around Stellar-Conduct, converting the party’s Superconduct reactions and storing special energy for his Elemental Skill. He can deal periodic off-field damage or spend that energy on enhanced Charged Attacks, while his Burst deals AoE Electro damage and helps keep the loop going. Valeriy is a support-focused 4-star who provides shields and boosts Electro damage, with extra value in Stellar-Conduct teams.
Mitya and Valeriy will appear in the first phase of Event Wishes alongside a Furina rerun. The second phase brings back Zibai and Linnea, plus a new Chronicled Wish featuring select Natlan characters.
Version 7.2 also includes a limited-time event tied to the Archon Quest, with a Quick Start option available. Rewards include Primogems, upgrade materials, and the chance to invite one 4-star character of the player’s choice. Genshin Impact is available on PlayStation, Xbox, PC, Android, and iOS with cross-progression and co-op support.
