EverQuest’s Frostreaver TLP server rules are set, launching in May
Darkpaw Games has locked in the ruleset for EverQuest’s next Time-Locked Progression server, Frostreaver, after running a community poll last month. The studio says the winning options were clear enough that it didn’t need any runoff voting.
Frostreaver is currently slated to open in May, with more launch details expected closer to release.
On the content side, Frostreaver will start with the Standard era plus Scars of Velious available at launch. From there, expansions will unlock over time until the server eventually reaches Live. Based on the poll results, players also opted for a faster pace in later eras, including quicker unlocking for Gates of Discord and some expansions unlocking in bundles, such as Dragons of Norrath alongside Omens of War, and Prophecy of Ro alongside Depths of Darkhollow.
Class availability is also getting pushed up. Beastlords and Berserkers will be playable right from the start on Frostreaver.
For rules and quality-of-life settings, the poll results point to a faster ride than many older progression servers. Experience gain is set to match Live rates, encounter locking is in, and level locking is out. Truebox restrictions were voted off as well, meaning there won’t be limits on how many clients you can run per machine. Open PvP didn’t make the cut.
Players also voted to include a handful of bonuses, including Randomized Loot, Resource Hunter bonuses, Legacy characters, and Evolving Bonuses.
