EverQuest II’s next update, GU131 “Gerion’s Reckoning,” hits beta March 10
Daybreak has locked in the next EverQuest II game update. GU131, titled Gerion’s Reckoning, is scheduled to run in beta from March 10 through March 23.
According to the official post, access to the beta requires ownership of the most recent expansion, Rage of Cthurath. Daybreak also says more details on what’s in the update will be shared over the next few weeks.
As for what Gerion’s Reckoning is about, Daybreak’s announcement leans on story teases involving The Consumer, a stolen Vrakorr rune claw, and an Acolyte of Oblivion. There aren’t any real patch specifics yet, and the studio hasn’t announced an exact live release date. Still, with the beta ending March 23, it’s fair to expect the update to land not too long after, assuming testing goes smoothly.
This is also the first concrete look at Daybreak’s 2026 plans for EQ2 after the studio said it would skip publishing a full roadmap this year. At the time, Daybreak said it still intended to deliver two game updates and an expansion, plus a new time-locked expansion server and updates to existing TLE servers.
