Mortal Online 2 PTR patch targets overpowered Mercenary Plate, tweaks VoIP and pet-killing penalties

Mortal Online 2 is putting a balance-focused patch up on the Public Test Realm on February 25, and the big headline is plate armor normalization. Mercenary Plate has ended up being the clear best pick, and Star Vault says the goal here is to bring plate options closer together without making every set identical.

According to the official post, the normalization pass is meant to smooth out extreme weaknesses and give underperforming plate choices a boost, so players aren’t funneled into one “correct” armor set for actual fights.

Outside of armor, the same PTR build also touches a handful of systems that can affect day-to-day play. VoIP behavior is being changed, and killing pets will now cause standing loss, closing a loophole where players could take out someone’s animals without eating the usual criminal-style consequences.

There are a couple of smaller knobs being turned too: certain structures will drain more Prominence, and the Tindrem Arena hub is getting improvements. It doesn’t sound like a content-heavy patch, but if you’re into buildcraft or PvP, the armor changes alone could shift what you see out in the world once it leaves testing.
