EverQuest II Opens Descent to Val’Zyroth Beta With Pre-Orders Now Live
EverQuest II’s next expansion, Descent to Val’Zyroth, is now in beta, and pre-orders are open through the expansion landing page. According to the official post, every pre-order edition includes beta server access and a Pilbippi Mudpuppy pet.
The beta is scheduled to run until Descent to Val’Zyroth launches. Daybreak says players who buy in and don’t see the beta forums should try logging out and back in. If that still doesn’t fix it, they’re told to message Angeliana.
Descent to Val’Zyroth sends players into Val’Zyroth Ness, the Duchy of the Dead, Keramos Caverns, and the mines of Khor Boldir, with new solo, heroic, and raid content planned. The expansion also includes new Adventure, Tradeskill, and Signature quests, plus collections and a scavenger hunt tied to a new Epic mount.
One of the more notable beta notes is Personas support on Origins servers, letting players level any class on a single character. The beta also includes new and improved Untold Heroic Dungeons, which are getting their own reward track.
Daybreak has outlined several beta rewards tied to different types of testing. Tradeskill testing can earn a Jumble Jelly Pack Pony appearance, completing the signature line rewards a Moderate Mudderite familiar, and finishing the full quest set unlocks flight in Val’Zyroth Ness for one character after launch. Other rewards include a Tier 2 Corathus Immunity Rune choice for heroic testing, 20 Untold Val’Zyroth Poppets for Untold Heroic testing, The Soulreaper mercenary aspect for solo testing, and raid rewards including a Netherforged Scroll Case and 20,000 Malicious Shards.
No launch date was included in the beta announcement.
