EVE Vanguard Opens Paid 24/7 Alpha in November, Steam Early Access Moves to 2027

EVE Vanguard is moving from limited playtests to a paid, always-on alpha on PC starting November 10, 2026. Fenris Creations says the alpha will run exclusively through the EVE Launcher, with pricing and purchase details coming closer to launch.

The bigger timing change is Steam Early Access. That release is now planned for Q3 2027, when EVE Vanguard will enter beta. The studio also plans to run limited Steam playtests before then, though dates haven’t been announced.

EVE Vanguard is an extraction FPS set in the EVE Online universe, with players deploying as Warclones to raid sites, grab tech, fight hostile forces and other players, then extract before they lose what they brought in. Between runs, players return to a Warbarge to craft gear and prep loadouts.

The November alpha builds on July’s Operation Avalon test and adds several notable pieces:

  • A refreshed new-player path with tutorial changes, narrative mission briefings, and a Jobs Board for shorter reward-focused tasks.
  • Three new maps joining Lost Convoy: High Castle, Vorago, and The Vault.
  • High Castle removes PvP damage, while Vorago adds a lower-security zone with enemy forces and rival Warclones.
  • The Vault is a three-squad PvP map with shifting layouts and rare Weapon Cores for high-tier weapon crafting.
  • Expanded weapon progression through Weapon Telemetry, plus the new Gallente BR-60 Battle Rifle.
  • A new Vanguard suit, vaulting and mantling, UI changes, and improvements to aiming, enemies, healing, and grenades.

The alpha will also start pushing EVE Vanguard closer to EVE Online’s ongoing faction wars. Players will be able to enlist with one of New Eden’s four empires, and over time, completed jobs and expeditions are planned to contribute War Effort to that empire’s Factional Warfare campaigns in EVE Online.

For now, the main takeaway is simple: if you want the continuous alpha, it’s EVE Launcher only this November. If you’re waiting for Steam, that version is now a 2027 beta target.
