ESO Update 49 lands March 9 with gold-buyable mounts and cheaper storage upgrades
ZeniMax says The Elder Scrolls Online Update 49 is set for March 9, and it’s packed with the kind of quality-of-life stuff players usually ask for: easier build swapping, more housing space, and less painful inventory upgrades.
The flashiest change is mounts. Instead of living exclusively in the cash shop, a batch of new rides is being added to stablemasters for in-game gold. According to the official post, ZeniMax plans to offer 17 mounts through regular vendors, no premium currency required.
The studio previewed a few of the options coming with the update, including the Shadowghost Guar, Snow Bear, Hammerfell Camel, and Senche-Cougar.
Outside of mounts, Update 49 also targets some long-running friction points. ZeniMax says players will get free build changes, account-wide outfit slot unlocks, a higher furnishing limit cap, and reduced costs for bag and bank space expansions.
ZeniMax hasn’t laid out every detail in the snippet here, but the headline is clear: more ways to spend gold on cosmetic stuff, and fewer gold sinks for basic storage and character upkeep when Update 49 arrives on March 9.
