Erenshor’s first raid test is now live on Steam

Erenshor has started testing raids. Developer Brian Burgee has pushed a public test build for the single-player “MMORPG,” roughly a month after first saying the feature was on the way.

The new build adds the game’s first raid-style content, giving players an early look at how larger group encounters will work in a game that’s built around simulating an MMO experience without other real players. That’s the big hook with Erenshor in general, and raids are a pretty obvious next step for it.

Details are still fairly limited from the source snippet, and it doesn’t spell out exactly how players access the test build or what the raid includes. But the main takeaway is simple: raid testing has begun, and Burgee is moving ahead on one of the bigger post-launch-style additions the game has teased so far.

Erenshor is a single-player RPG designed to mimic the feel of an older online MMO, complete with AI party members and familiar genre structure. Adding raids makes sense in that context, since endgame boss runs are one of the staples the game has been circling from the start. There’s a free demo available on Steam for those curious.

If you’ve been following the recent teases, this is the first playable version of that idea. More specifics will likely come once the test period is underway and players have had time to poke at it.
