Erenshor dev teases raids as the MMO-inspired RPG hits one year in early access
Erenshor has been in early access for a year, and developer Burgee Media is using the anniversary to tease what’s next. In a post on Steam, founder Brian Burgee said the next update is centered on raids, with testers getting an early build this week.
That doesn’t put a release date on the update yet, but it does suggest the patch is getting closer after a quieter stretch for the game. Burgee said more media and details on the update are coming soon, and that the build will move into the “home stretch” once testing shakes out the remaining issues.
According to the official post, the anniversary message also looks back on the game’s early access launch and Burgee’s long attempt to make the kind of RPG he’d wanted to build for years. He said the game’s success has let him work on it full time.
Erenshor has carved out a niche by leaning hard into old-school MMORPG structure while still being a single-player RPG. It’s especially aimed at players who miss the feel of early MMOs like EverQuest, from chat-style NPC behavior to group-focused progression.
For current players, the main takeaway is simple: the next big feature appears to be raids, and outside testing is starting now.
