Elite Dangerous players can now claim the Lynx Highliner for free

Frontier has made the new Lynx Highliner available in Elite Dangerous, and it currently costs nothing to pick up. The ship was previously expected to arrive for in-game credits after the game’s Operations feature slipped to June, but the live patch instead lets players claim the standard version for 0 Arx.

According to the patch notes, players need to sign into the game’s website, claim the Lynx Highliner Standard pack, then log into the game and deploy it through the ship management panel while docked or from an owned ship. It’s a medium passenger ship, so the timing lines up pretty neatly with the return of rescue missions at burning stations.

That same update also brings those evacuation jobs back, letting commanders fly into damaged stations and pull civilians out. If you’ve been in the mood for search-and-rescue runs, this patch is basically built for it.

Frontier also rolled out a batch of bug fixes in the same update. The full list is in the Steam post, but the big takeaway is simple: the Lynx Highliner is live now, and players can add it to their account for free instead of buying it with credits or through an early access cash offer.
