Elder Scrolls Online’s Warden refresh is still targeting 2027, Templar now up next

ZeniMax Online Studios has shared a fresh look at The Elder Scrolls Online’s planned Warden class refresh, and the timing hasn’t changed much: it’s still aimed for sometime in 2027. There’s no specific date yet, and the studio says the abilities shown so far may still change before release.

The update gives an early sense of where the Warden rework is headed. ZeniMax says it wants to keep the class’s core identity intact while addressing weaker spots, including visual identity, role-focused skill lines, and the lack of a more distinct class mechanic.

Among the early previews is a new Spriggan summon skill, described as a nature-themed helper with living-vine visuals that appears to lean into healing. Scorch and Betty Netch are also getting visual updates, while Lotus Flower is being reworked with a stronger seasonal theme, including petal effects tied to seasonal morphs or identity.

The studio also confirmed a shift in the class refresh order. Templar is now planned to follow Warden. Sorcerer had previously been expected next, but ZeniMax says the lineup has been adjusted to help get class refreshes out more effectively. Sorcerer hasn’t been canceled, just moved behind Templar.

The longer timeline follows earlier roadmap changes tied to studio restructuring. Game director Nick Giacomini said in July that the broader Class and Combat Refresh work had moved into 2027. Separately, Update 51, which includes Nowhere Vault and High Seas, is still scheduled for September 28, 2026.
