Elder Scrolls Online’s High Seas of Tamriel Event Sets Sail September 30
The Elder Scrolls Online’s next Season One event, High Seas of Tamriel, starts September 30, sending players onto the Riotous Redress for shipboard combat, cannon fire, and underwater exploration across the Abecean Sea.
The event centers on Captain Guy-Mard, a character who first showed up as a small lore reference in the launch-era book The Royal House of King Eamond. That book has been readable in Bangkorai Garrison and Evermore since ESO’s early days, so this is a fairly deep cut getting pulled into the spotlight.
Once the ship is ready, players can take on a new daily quest built around expeditions both above and below the water. On deck, fights use standard combat, but players will also need to patch up breaches caused by cannon fire and use the ship’s artillery against Sea Elf pirates and cultists trying to sink the vessel.
The underwater portion shifts to the ocean floor, where players have to keep a protective bubble active while exploring. That area includes two boss fights, treasure, lore, and a larger explorable stretch between encounters.
Rewards include the Abecean Sea Privateer outfit style, which can drop during the event and will also be sold by the Impresario. Finishing the introductory quest grants the Ostentatious Pirate Wig and Hat collectible. Reward boxes can also contain a new scroll that grants Skill XP for the Excavation and Scrying skill lines.
Players can also earn fragments for the Suncleft Grotto Ornaug through different event activities, along with new furnishings and antiquities from reward boxes, boss drops, and undersea treasure chests. One notable change: Antiquity leads can now award furnishing recipes, letting players craft additional copies instead of being limited to one-off drops.
The event arrives after recent reports that ESO lost roughly half of its development team, though the game’s seasonal content schedule is still moving ahead for now.
