Elder Scrolls Online Details Werewolf Rework Coming in Update 50

Elder Scrolls Online’s werewolf rework is now fully detailed ahead of Update 50, which is due June 8. The changes cover both how werewolves look and how they play, including new models, a different transformation system, and reworked combat abilities.

According to the official post, ZeniMax is adding a female werewolf model with a longer tail, shorter ears, and heavier chest fur. The existing male model is also getting visual updates, including about a 20% size increase and more dynamic fur.

The bigger gameplay shift is the transformation itself. Instead of spending the full Ultimate bar to turn, werewolf form will cost less up front, then use a maintenance cost while active. Some Ultimate regeneration will help offset that drain. Players will also be able to stay transformed outside combat, which should make the form feel less like a short burst window and more like something you can actually move around in.

Combat is getting new pieces too. Slaughter is a stealth takedown-style move that lets werewolves execute a dramatic kill after sneaking up on a target. Prowl is being added alongside it, giving players a way to sneak toward enemies and sniff them out more easily.

Several older werewolf abilities are being reworked as well. Roar is being replaced by Blood Hunger, which still boosts damage but ties into more morphs. Piercing Howl is becoming Gnash, described as a hard-hitting instant attack.

Update 50 has a few other ESO changes on the way, including the new PvP Veterancy system, a permanent Vengeance Campaign, and easier-to-find Transmutation stations, but the werewolf pass is one of the more noticeable overhauls for players who regularly use the transformation.
