Elder Scrolls Online details Update 50 PvP changes, housing tools, and a new dungeon event

ZeniMax Online Studios has shared a broader look at what’s coming to The Elder Scrolls Online in Update 50, with a mix of PvP changes, housing additions, and a new event tied to group dungeons. The update is due in a couple of weeks, and the studio is also outlining a few features planned after that.

According to the game’s recent previews, PvP is getting some of the biggest changes. Battlegrounds are adding two new maps and a new mode called Relic Run, while Cyrodiil is set to get a new capture point system meant to create more activity away from the usual keep fights. ZeniMax has also been testing performance work for large-scale PvP, which has been an ongoing issue for years.

Housing is getting some attention too. Update 50 adds a furnishing vault that lets players store housing items without eating into regular bank space, which should be a practical fix for anyone who’s piled up years of decorations. The studio also said it’s still working on a larger home item limit increase, but that sounds like it’s coming later rather than with this patch.

On the PvE side, ESO is adding a new event focused on dungeons. The basic idea is to give players another regular reason to run instanced group content, though the full reward structure wasn’t especially clear from the preview.

ZeniMax also used the update preview to point toward features beyond Update 50, including more housing improvements and other quality-of-life work. If you want the full breakdown from the studio, the details were shared in an official post.

ESO’s update cadence has shifted a bit this year as ZeniMax moves away from the old chapter model, so these smaller system updates carry a little more weight than usual. For players, the main takeaway is pretty simple: PvP is getting the headline changes in Update 50, housing gets a useful inventory fix, and dungeon players are getting a new event to keep the rotation moving.
