EA Launches In-Game Ad Platform for Dynamic Brand Placements

Electronic Arts is rolling out EA Advertising, a new platform for brands to place ads inside its games and live services. The company says the system will support dynamic, real-time placements, including stadium signage, in-game content, challenges, and reward-based objectives built around specific games or audiences.

EA is also pitching ad units across its sports lineup, along with targeting and measurement tools tied to a proprietary ad server and an SDK made for Frostbite. The early brand list includes Visa, Lowe’s, Red Bull, Mountain Dew, Xfinity, and Peacock.

The company is framing the ads as something meant to fit into the game rather than interrupt it. That distinction matters, since in-game advertising is still a touchy subject, especially in paid games. Players have generally been more accepting of ads that make sense in sports stadiums or racing tracks, and less accepting when they feel bolted onto a premium release.

EA hasn’t laid out a full list of games that will use EA Advertising, or how often players should expect to see these placements. For now, the clearest takeaway is that EA is making in-game ads a more formal part of its business, with sports titles looking like the obvious starting point.
