Dune: Awakening update 1.4 and Water Wars DLC hit May 19
Funcom says Dune: Awakening update 1.4 will launch on May 19, bringing two new Overland Map locations, more Landsraad missions, and a new Testing Station for endgame players. The same day, the paid Water Wars DLC will go live as the last piece of the game’s Season Pass.
According to the official announcement, the free update adds Wind Pass, described as an old Harkonnen tech hub tied to the Water Shippers, plus The Old Quarry Testing Station, a scalable challenge area featuring Dr. Jalanta. Funcom said 1.4 is focused on systems and endgame content rather than new story missions, with the next story chapter planned for a later update.
The Water Wars DLC is a cosmetic and building set themed around the Water Shippers, the faction that controls much of the water trade on Arrakis. It’ll cost $9.99, €9.99, or £8.50 on its own, or come included with the Season Pass, which is priced at $24.99 or €24.99.
This follows update 1.3.20, which made PvP fully optional. That change lets players access the full endgame without taking part in PvP, a pretty significant shift for a survival game that had leaned harder on player conflict before.
Dune: Awakening launched in June 2025 and has been steadily updated since, with Funcom adding story expansions, new maps, and a larger endgame overhaul in Chapter 3. Update 1.4 looks like another step in that direction, even if it’s not the one that moves the story forward.
