Dune: Awakening patches base-damage exploit, hands out bans, and teases March server merges

Funcom says it’s now patched the recent Dune: Awakening exploit that let players damage bases in PvE areas, a situation that previously forced rollbacks on five servers and a temporary pause on Coriolis Storm content.

In a new dev letter, the studio also confirmed it’s taken action against players who abused the bug. According to the developer update, Funcom permanently banned 155 players it calls the “biggest offenders,” and issued 289 suspensions lasting 14 days for others it says knowingly used the exploit.

To help players recover from lost progress tied to the rollbacks, Funcom is running a weekend event with double XP, reputation, resources, and scrip. The studio didn’t go into much detail on how long “all weekend” runs in each region, but the intent is pretty clear: get affected worlds back on their feet faster.

Beyond the immediate cleanup, Funcom also pointed to what’s next. Update 1.3.10.0 is planned for March, and it’s aimed at refining Chapter 3 content that’s already live.

That patch is also expected to kick off server merges. Funcom says it’ll share a full list of which worlds are affected in early March, so players have some time to prepare before their server gets folded into another.
