Conan Exiles Enhanced is live on Steam with a free Unreal Engine 5 upgrade
Funcom has rolled out Conan Exiles Enhanced on Steam, bringing a free Unreal Engine 5 upgrade to the survival sandbox today. The update is only available on Steam for now, so console players aren’t included in this launch.
According to the official post, the overhaul includes updated visuals, a reworked UI, performance improvements, Steam Deck support work, and a batch of quality-of-life changes. Funcom is also tying the Exiled Lands and Isle of Siptah together more closely as part of the new version.
This is a free upgrade for anyone who already owns Conan Exiles on Steam, and it also applies to future Steam buyers. The launch lands just ahead of the game’s eight-year anniversary on May 8.
There is a fallback option, but only for some players. Funcom says anyone who backed up their characters in time can keep playing on legacy servers instead of moving over to Enhanced. If you play on a private server, or run one, it’s worth checking Funcom’s full explainer before jumping in since the backend changes are more involved than a normal patch.
Conan Exiles first launched in 2018 and has stayed active as one of the more established survival crafting games on PC and consoles. This update looks like the biggest technical refresh it’s had so far, even if the rollout is limited to Steam at the start.
