Closers Online is shutting down after 11 years

Closers Online is being sunset after 11 years. The anime-styled action MMORPG first launched in South Korea in 2014, and its western version had a more complicated run, bouncing from En Masse Entertainment back to developer Naddic Games after En Masse shut down.

The closure was confirmed in a recent post from the game’s team. According to the official announcement, Closers Online will stop operating on June 30, 2025. Cash shop sales have already been disabled, and the game is no longer accepting new account registrations.

For anyone still playing, the remaining stretch looks pretty straightforward. Players can log in and use whatever currency and items they already have until the shutdown date, but there won’t be any more paid purchases. The team also said it plans to hold a few final in-game events before service ends.

Closers mixed side-scrolling beat-’em-up combat with MMO structure, and it managed to hang on through publisher changes and a shrinking niche. In the west, it was one of several online games affected when En Masse closed in 2020, though Closers survived that transition and kept running under Naddic.

Now it’s joining the long list of older online games heading offline for good. If you’ve still got a character sitting around, you’ve got a little over a month to check in before the servers go dark.

Rest in peace Closers Online.
