Camelot Unchained Servers Stay Up for 10 Days After Networking Bug
Camelot Unchained is getting a longer-than-usual Early Access window after an outage cut last weekend’s session short. Unchained Entertainment is keeping the servers online from Friday, July 24 at 1 PM EDT until Monday, August 3 at 1 PM EDT.
That’s 10 straight days of access before the game returns to its normal weekends-only schedule. The studio said the extra time is meant as an apology to players who ran into the issue and helped identify it.
According to details shared through the game’s Steam page, the problem came from new code in the latest build. Under certain load conditions, players changing zones could trigger a networking bug that pushed the whole server cluster into a bad state.
Update 0.45.1 went live Friday with a fix for that issue. It also addressed players getting stuck after being resurrected and some status effects displaying incorrectly in the UI.
The extended uptime is notable because Camelot Unchained has mostly been limited to weekend play since Early Access opened to backers in March, a schedule that continued after the game arrived on Steam in June. For a PvP-focused MMORPG built around three-realm warfare, availability has been one of the bigger practical hurdles for anyone trying to get consistent playtime.
Unchained Entertainment also says the next major update will add the first version of its class progression system, along with player quests tied to the recently added quest log. There’s no date for that update yet. The game is still targeting a December 2026 exit from Early Access.
