Camelot Unchained Opens Another Early Access Weekend With Durability and Weather Prep

Camelot Unchained is back in Early Access for backers this weekend, with the latest session running until Monday at 1:00 p.m. Eastern, 10:00 a.m. Pacific. The new build adds item durability, repair kits, and a round of engine, lighting, UI, and balance changes.

According to the patch notes, Unchained Entertainment has also been laying groundwork for dynamic weather and broader environmental updates. That includes sunrise and sunset changes, more consistent lighting across different times of day, a new sky rendering model, haze improvements, and fixes tied to how sunlight behaves in different conditions.

The team says feedback from recent Early Access sessions shifted its short-term priorities. Instead of sticking only to rendering work and the first new map, the studio spent much of the month addressing player reports, balance issues, gear acquisition, hotkey bugs, and line-of-sight problems.

Water is getting early attention too. This build adds first-pass character states for floating and drowning, with more underwater work planned later. For Realm vs. Realm zones, the patch adds ranged defenders around contested points and makes NPC defenders more aggressive, though with a smaller aggro range.

The latest development update also points to what’s next: continued work on the Forest Sauvage zone, a mail system, rewards, tradeskills, and more updates tied to the game’s long-running RvR focus.
