Blizzard Nerfs Mythic Ula’tek During World of Warcraft Race to World First
Blizzard has pushed live hotfixes for Mythic Ula’tek in World of Warcraft, cutting down some Phase 2 pressure while top Race to World First guilds are still stuck on the boss in Week 3.
The changes are aimed at making the encounter a bit more consistent, especially for groups dealing with tether damage in Phase 2. At the time of the source report, Echo was leading with its best pull at 60.8%, while Liquid was at 74.6% after more than 200 pulls on Mythic Ula’tek.
- Blight Vein damage has been reduced by 25.7%.
- Soul Constrictor now lasts 5 seconds on Mythic difficulty, down from 6 seconds.
The Soul Constrictor change matters because the common tether strategy was previously hitting players for roughly 1.2 million damage every 2 seconds over 6 seconds. With the nerf, that drops to about 900,000 per tick. Still dangerous, but with player health pools sitting around the 850,000 to 900,000 range in the report, it gives raids more room to survive instead of getting instantly punished.
Mid-race tuning isn’t unusual when a Mythic boss is holding up even the best-geared players for this long. This doesn’t make Ula’tek free, but it should smooth out one of the fight’s roughest checks and could help the leading guilds push deeper into the encounter.
