Black Desert Online kicks off Lunar New Year events, with Black Desert Mobile joining Feb. 16

Black Desert Online has a fresh PC update out now, and it’s also the start of this year’s Lunar New Year event run. Black Desert Mobile is getting its own set of Lunar New Year events a little later, starting February 16.

On the PC side, Pearl Abyss says this patch includes a first round of AP-related balance adjustments aimed at smoothing out monster zone entry requirements that can get skewed by different skill effects. The studio’s framing it as step one, with more tweaks possible after they see how this round lands. Full details are in the official post.

Beyond balance, the update adds new Prize Catch fish, opens up Olvia Academy graduation season, and makes some changes to Olvia-related quests.

The Lunar New Year events on PC include a Hot Time boost, new fish to catch and deliver for rewards (including a Bountiful New Year’s Box that contains 1,000 Crone Stones), and special boxes that can spawn in monster zones. Taking those down can get you a Red Horse buff plus a Red Horse Pouch of Fortune with more Crone Stones and other items. There are also login rewards starting tomorrow, with extra boxes tied to a seven-day streak. All Lunar New Year events in Black Desert Online are set to end February 26.

For Black Desert Mobile, Lunar New Year starts February 16 with a login event running through March 2. There’s also a limited-time New Year’s Fortune Pouch you can claim daily and exchange for a reward of your choice, but that one only runs February 16 through February 23. Finally, a puzzle event runs February 16 to March 2, letting players collect pieces daily to flip tiles on a 25-tile board, with the option to refresh the board up to three times per day.
