Black Desert Global Lab raises level cap to 75 and reworks Combat EXP

Black Desert’s latest Global Lab update raises the maximum character level to 75 and makes broader changes to Combat EXP, leveling rewards, and level-based monster interactions. The notes apply to the test server for now, so details may still change before they arrive on live servers.

The update is scheduled for live maintenance on October 7 in Korea and October 8 globally. Pearl Abyss is also warning players to claim any unclaimed Character Switch EXP before then, since unclaimed EXP in that UI will be deleted during maintenance.

  • The character level cap is being raised from 70 to 75, and characters will stop gaining EXP once they hit level 75.
  • Characters level 70 and up will gain extra PvE stats each level, topping out at +18 Extra AP Against Monsters and +18 Monster Damage Reduction at level 75.
  • Those bonus stats also apply through Character Switch, using the higher-level character’s values, but they won’t stack.
  • Combat EXP requirements are changing across all level ranges, along with EXP from monsters, quests, and Black Spirit Training.
  • Single-monster Combat EXP gains will now be capped by level range, including EXP buffs, with much smaller gains at higher levels.
  • Monster name color tiers are being reduced from 11 to 7, and players can gain up to +9 Monster Damage Reduction when fighting monsters below their level.

New Combat Secret Manuals are also planned after the October 14 maintenance in Korea and October 15 globally. These items will grant Combat EXP from several PvE and PvP activities, including Black Shrine, Guild Bosses, Altar of Blood, Node War, Conquest War, War of the Roses, Red Battlefield, Guild League, and Arena of Solare. Some progress from earlier dates will count retroactively.

The same batch of notes also points to a new common skill, God-Slaying: Targeted Strike, planned for live servers. Players will need to finish the Inner Edania main quests and obtain “New Era” knowledge before getting the related Secret Tome from the Mercenary’s Footsteps NPC in Voidekea.

Class-related changes are part of the package too, including standardized base stats across classes and auto-learned passives at levels 50, 55, 60, 65, and 70. Valkyrie Awakening and Woosa Succession are also getting targeted adjustments, while the Character Tag rotation shifts to Musa and Maehwa after the October 7 and 8 maintenance.
