Black Desert Adds Agent Class, HYPERBOOST Progression, and New Roadmap Details
Pearl Abyss has launched Agent, the 32nd playable class in Black Desert, globally on July 30. The new male class is styled as a secret operative and uses a revolver as his main weapon, with a secondary firearm called Hexround backing up his attacks and boosting his physical combat.
Agent is also tied to Deadeye, the gun-wielding class added in 2024, as her younger brother. His kit leans into quick movement and close-range gunplay, including skills like Blink and Mozambique Drill.
The update also introduces HYPERBOOST, a progression support program meant to help new and returning players catch up faster. Pearl Abyss says it’s aimed at getting characters to a combined Attack Power and Defense Power score of 730, which opens up more of Black Desert’s core content. By graduating a Season character, moving through Olvia Academy, and clearing set objectives, players can earn materials tied to Sovereign Weapons, PEN (V) Kharazad accessories, Slumbering Origin gear, and Inverted Hearts of Garmoth.
Pearl Abyss also used its July 26 Heidel Ball in Southern California to lay out the next stretch of Black Desert updates. Edania Part 2 is the big one, with a staged rollout starting with a new Sulfur Golem monster zone next week. The Edania Part 2 regions, items, and bosses are planned for August 13, while the main quests are set for September.
- Edania Part 2 will add Ekleta accessories, upgraded from Kharazad accessories.
- Apeiron accessories can be crafted separately and traded through the Central Market.
- Instant Character Swap will let players switch family characters without extra loading screens.
- Family Dispatch will let alternate characters handle life-skill tasks like gathering, processing, and fishing.
- DirectX 12, AMD FSR 3.1, NVIDIA DLSS, and later FSR 4.1 support are planned for PC.
Other planned additions include Marni’s Combat Analyzer for checking combat stats, a Ferrica mount, new yellow-grade ship equipment, and a reworked level and experience system meant to make leveling matter more again.
