BitCraft Online’s November 10 update changes refined items and settlement leveling
BitCraft Online’s November 10 update is changing how refined items feed into settlement progression, and players may want to clean up some materials before the patch lands.
The big shift is that several refined items will no longer require the same refined item from the previous tier. That applies to Refined Ingots, Refined Bricks, Refined Cloth, Refined Leather, Refined Planks, and Study Journals. So a Tier 3 refined ingot, for example, won’t need a Tier 2 refined ingot anymore.
Instead, those recipes will lean harder on materials from their own tier. Higher-tier crafts will still cost more, just in a more direct way. The example given by the developers is a Tier 1 Refined Ferralith Ingot taking 5 Ferralith Ingots, while a Tier 5 Refined Luminite Ingot takes 13 Luminite Ingots.
Settlement leveling is also getting a new item called Settlement Research. It will replace Codexes as the main item used to level up settlements, but unlike the refined-item recipes, Settlement Research will still require one Settlement Research from the tier below. The goal is to keep the overall time investment close to where it is now, while moving more of that work into the player’s current tier instead of piling up huge Tier 1 and Tier 2 requirements.
The team says recipes that still require the same item from the previous tier will now only need one of that lower-tier item. That should cut down on the steep “funnel-up” pressure that can make higher-tier crafting depend heavily on older materials.
Players are being told to expect refined items, and Material Research made from them, to lose some value after the patch because they’ll be easier to make. Before November 10, the developers suggest converting as many refined materials or Material Research items into Codexes as possible. After the update, those Codexes can be converted into Settlement Research through the item conversion recipe by right-clicking them.
No items are being deleted or removed as part of the change. The studio also plans to discuss the patch on Twitch during a livestream on Thursday, November 5, running from 12:00 to 2:30pm ET.
