Once Human Season 5 launches November 19 with a sound-based Colossus raid
Once Human is getting its fifth season, Dissonant Resonance, on November 19. Starry Studio says the free-to-play survival game’s next update will center on sound, music, and a massive pipe-organ-like Colossus that looms over the world before becoming the focus of a new four-player raid.
The season adds Anomaly Zones themed around emotions like Joy, Rage, Sorrow, and Fear. In those areas, enemies can drop musical notes during fights. Players shoot and collect those notes, then use them to purify corrupted scores and unlock acoustic buffs. It’s a strange pitch, but very much in line with Once Human’s usual mix of survival crafting, weird monsters, and supernatural objects.
The main set piece is the Colossus itself. Starry describes it as a living machine presence in the skybox that reacts to what players do below. Eventually, squads can enter a rift and fight it directly in a four-player encounter where the music and arena shift during battle. Parts of the fight include shutting down Resonating Pipes in a ruined cathedral and using aerial vehicles to pass through Resonating Cavities in the sky.
Dissonant Resonance will also introduce the Silent Statue, a new combat Deviant focused on elemental effects. It starts as a broken gray monument, absorbs elemental damage during combat, and can later provide a squad-wide elemental blessing once awakened.
A limited-time Nailoong crossover is live now as well. Players can log in for a Nailoong Disco Light, use daily chat commands for transformation items and dance emotes, and take part in dance party and “tummy battle” activities on the event island. Inviting friends can also unlock an avatar, namecard, and Deviant skin.
Once Human is available on PC, including through its Steam page. More general game info is available on the official site.
