BitCraft director outlines floating ocean cities, seasonal region, and more updates through June

BitCraft game director Carter Minshull used a recent Twitch Q&A to sketch out a few of the sandbox MMO’s next additions, including one of the bigger reveals so far: floating platforms that will let players build cities out on the open ocean. That feature is currently planned for summer.

The stream also confirmed a new seasonal region is on the way soon, along with several updates expected between now and June. Those include more detailed settlement permissions, declared alliances and wars between empires, and a merchant gameplay loop. Minshull didn’t get into much detail on those systems, so for now it’s more of a roadmap check-in than a full feature breakdown.

A lot of the rest of the Q&A focused on smaller, practical changes. According to the stream recap, the team is working on item transfers to inventories not owned by the player, higher-tier settlements, more equipment loadouts, added sailing content, and more PvE combat content.

BitCraft has been positioning itself as a community-driven sandbox MMO built around gathering, crafting, settlement building, and player cooperation, so some of these updates line up with the game’s broader focus. The settlement permission changes and empire alliance tools, in particular, look aimed at making larger player groups easier to manage.
