Asteria: Fate of the Fallen hits its Kickstarter goal in under a day
Asteria: Fate of the Fallen, an anime-styled VR MMORPG from developer Noah Bazer, has cleared its initial Kickstarter goal of $50,000 less than a day after the campaign went live. According to the official campaign page, the project reached that mark within 22 hours.
The pitch is a fantasy VR MMO built around physics-based melee combat, rune-casting magic, crafting, and social features like player housing, shops, and minigame-style activities. Instead of a typical chosen-one setup, the game is framed around players rebuilding and defending the city of Selara.
Bazer said in the project’s introduction video that the team recently ran a weekend test with 100 players and is using SpacetimeDB for backend tech. He also said the game is still planned to release even if crowdfunding falls short, with Kickstarter money meant to speed up development, expand the team, and help add features.
The campaign still has weeks left to run, and its stretch goals include guild halls, musical instruments, co-owned player shops, and PvP dueling. There’s no broader launch timing in the source beyond Bazer’s claim that development is continuing either way.
VR MMORPGs are still a pretty small corner of the genre, which makes projects like Asteria stand out even at the crowdfunding stage. For now, the big takeaway is simple: the game’s first funding target is already met, and the campaign is moving on to stretch goals.
