Ashes of Creation team responds to Early Access problems, delays dev stream to Feb. 13
Intrepid Studios has posted a community letter addressing the big pain points players have run into since Ashes of Creation hit Steam Early Access, including RMT and botting, performance and crash issues, and several unfinished or inconsistent gameplay systems. Alongside the letter, the studio also pushed back its next development update livestream by two weeks.
According to the official post, the team says it understands the frustration, especially because many of the problems overlap. Cheating and real-money trading are being called out as particularly destabilizing, and the letter also points to issues tied to caravans and crates as part of that broader mess.
On the gameplay side, Intrepid notes that some systems simply are not where they need to be yet. Players have been vocal about PvP and corruption feeling unfinished and inconsistent, along with broader balance concerns like risk versus reward not lining up. The letter’s message is basically that Early Access is still very much in-development, but that doesn’t mean players should be expected to shrug off broken systems.
The delayed dev stream is now scheduled for February 13 at 11:00 a.m. Pacific. Intrepid says the extra time is to make sure it can clearly explain what’s next, including Q1 plans and how its development priorities connect to the current list of issues.
