Ashes of Creation

Ashes of Creation is an upcoming fantasy MMORPG centered on a world that reacts to its players, where community actions can elevate settlements from tiny encampments to bustling cities. Supporting that shifting world state, it targets open-world PvP, major guild-versus-guild clashes, and a trade-driven economy in which caravans and valuable resource routes become natural hotspots for teamwork and rivalry.

Overview

Ashes of Creation Overview

Ashes of Creation pitches a high-fantasy MMO built around a world that evolves over time, with players shaping development instead of only working through static, pre-made content. You start by making a character from one of four races (each with two sub-races), then enter a setting where progress is meant to come from the community beyond starter areas and predetermined hubs. Its signature system is the node mechanic: points of interest can grow from small villages into major cities, opening up fresh services and altering what the nearby region provides.

The economy is framed as a core gameplay lane rather than an optional extra. Players can set up trade routes and transport goods via caravans, deciding whether to escort shipments for rewards or ambush them as bandits. Land ownership is also part of the long-term vision, allowing players to buy plots and put resources into production, crafting, and infrastructure—ranging from utilitarian workshops to strongly defended properties. Advancement is intended to involve picking a place in the world as much as gaining levels.

Combat and competition sit at the heart of the design, with much of the world leaning into open PvP and a karma-like system meant to reduce consequence-free griefing. For organized conflict, guilds are expected to anchor territorial struggles, including large siege battles where groups contest control and influence. Beyond the main loop, the game also plans familiar MMO features such as pets, mounts for faster travel, and player marriage as a social system.

Ashes of Creation Key Features:

  • Player-Created World – systems are designed so the landscape, settlements, and regional value shift based on what players do.
  • Character Creation – roughly eight planned classes and eight races, paired with robust customization options.
  • Landownership – purchase land and develop it, whether that means simple agriculture or building toward a larger community center.
  • Large-Scale PvP – open-world PvP is a major focus, supported by guild warfare and siege battles tied to territory and power.
