Arknights: Endfield’s Sketches of Lost Heirlooms update arrives June 5

Arknights: Endfield is getting its next free update, Sketches of Lost Heirlooms, on June 5. The patch adds a new region and story content, two playable characters, the series’ Contingency Contract challenge mode, and a batch of quality-of-life changes aimed at combat, menus, and factory management.

According to the announcement, the new area is Sword Vault Dale, a ruined zone on Talos-II tied to the update’s story campaign. Players will explore the area with the Wuling Watch and dig into the mystery around the “Lost Heirlooms.”

Two characters are part of the update rollout. Mi Fu launches with the patch on June 5 and is described as a high-mobility Physical Guard built around chaining attacks and skills into long combo strings. Camille is coming later in the update and uses a Heat Vanguard kit focused on speeding up squad skill rotations and enabling combo attacks.

The other big addition is Contingency Contract, which Endfield is bringing over from the broader Arknights series. It’s a customizable challenge mode where players raise the difficulty by turning on different modifiers, including battlefield restrictions and other penalties. In practice, it sounds like Endfield’s new endgame test for players who want to push team comps instead of just brute-forcing encounters.

On the quality-of-life side, the patch adds Backup Power to help prevent factory blackouts, plus automation for recipe blockages. Menu cleanup is a big part of the update too, with bulk artificing, batch weapon dismantling, lock management, and a “Perfect Match” label for essence farming. The UI is also getting improved off-screen enemy warnings, smoother controller and mouse-and-keyboard switching, and a reworked Daily Task system.

Endfield is GRYPHLINE’s 3D action RPG and factory-building spin on Arknights, so it’s not surprising to see this update split its attention between combat systems and automation tools. June 5 looks like a fairly substantial patch if you’ve been waiting for more story content or a tougher mode to dig into.
